When this client reached out I was like NO WAY am I planning a Celebration of Life. I have the emotion of a tree stump. However, the last month I really enjoyed helping to plan this event and in retrospect I realized it is quite an honor to be asked to be a part of a celebration of this magnitude.
In all honesty it made me feel good to know that I was able to create an event that honored and remembered what sounds like quite a remarkable woman/ nurse/ friend/ cousin and aunt.
Now this does not mean I’m switching from kids parties to COL but planning more COL are not off the table.
Upgraded linens were a must. BBJ linens can take any event from ordinary to extraordinary very quickly.
The client wanted to include something fun to remember Angies favorite things. Nurse – Portillos – NYC
Since we coudnt’t bring NYC to Chicago we had custom cookies made for each guest.
One request was to make this event not look like a funeral or focused to much on flowers. Our brilliant florist nailed it again and focused more on greenery with a pop of her favorite color.
This was my favorite element. I wanted to upgrade the poster board photo and after some thinking this was the perfect way to share photos of her life while matching the decor. I bought trellis’s from Ace Hardware and used gold tacks to hang the photos. Our amazing florist finished it off by adding some greenery.
I wanted to add some decor to the outside tables so they didn’t look so picnic like. Michelle and Leslie nailed this challenge.
After the main Celebration of Life WE planned a private dinner for the close family and friends nearby. Custom menus by us and catered by Food For Thought.
