DOUBLE the milestone, DOUBLE the magic
As a Chicago party planner, I live for celebrations that take us beyond city limits — and this one was truly unforgettable.
This event was extra special from the start. I was hired by one of my favorite longtime clients to help celebrate two of his closest friends turning 40(who are also my clients)… in one of my absolute favorite destinations: Isle of Palms. (Although I’ll always have to admit—Charleston still holds the top spot in my heart )

Planning a destination birthday party from Chicago always comes with a unique set of challenges. From sourcing trusted vendors in another city to coordinating logistics remotely, every detail has to be intentional. As a Chicago-based event planner for destination celebrations, this is where experience, relationships, and creative problem-solving really matter.
And this team? Absolutely delivered.

From jaw-dropping florals by the lovely @CharelstonFlowerGirl that transformed the space, to the most delicious sweets and cake from the talented @CakeMyDayCharelston that felt almost too pretty to eat, mouth watering catering by @SImple.Provisions , every vendor helped bring this 40th birthday celebration to life in the most elevated way. The event rentals @Charelston.Event.Rentals set the tone perfectly, the custom light-up letters @AlphalitCharelstonColumbia created the ultimate photo moment, the bartenders @LemonorLimeSC kept the energy flowing all night, and the photographer @GaiaPhotographyLLC captured every magical detail with so much heart.

Every element came together because of an incredible vendor team that showed up fully — even from miles away. That’s what makes destination event planning so powerful: when the right creative partners align, geography becomes irrelevant.

There’s something about hosting a milestone celebration on the coast that instantly changes the energy. The ocean breeze, the soft light, the slower rhythm of the island — it all made this 40th birthday feel less like a party and more like a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 💛
