Held at the sunlit and charming patio space at The Warbler in Chicago, this celebration was bursting with cheerful colors, joyful melodies, and endless happy vibes.

When Marissa (the mom) and I first talked about the party concept, she kept telling me she wanted a “super simple party.” I kept nodding along thinking, I totally get it—low-key, clean lines, nothing over-the-top, keep it simple!
Finally, I said, “Got it, so we’ll keep the decor scaled back and minimal!”
She burst out laughing and stopped me right there: “No, no—the show! ‘Super Simple Songs’!”
Prior to that call, I had never even heard of the show! But as any parent or event planner knows, once you learn about Super Simple Songs, you realize it’s an absolute phenomenon in the toddler world. I always love a brand-new theme, and diving into this vibrant, song-filled universe was such a fun creative challenge.
The Vision: A Music-Filled “Super Simple Songs” Celebration
For this event, we took inspiration from the show’s iconic primary color palette, playful characters, and sing-along energy to build an immersive experience for both kids and adults.
1. Musical Instrument Centerpieces (That Doubled as Party Favors!)
Why settle for standard table decor when your centerpieces can double as interactive play?
- The Design: We styled guest tables with colorful mini musical instruments—including xylophones, maracas, tambourines, and bells—surrounded by vibrant napkins and a sweet treat on each plate.
- The Interactive Element: Little guests could pick up instruments during the party to jam along to the playlist, and at the end of the event, every child took an instrument home as a memorable keepsake favor!

- The Setup: The talented @anna.decor.art nailed it with her multi-colored balloon columns that framed our custom built backdrop. The organic balloon design brought all the high-energy primary colors of the theme together, creating the ultimate backdrop for family photos and cake smash moments.
3. A Sweet Summer Setting at The Warbler Chicago
Venue selection is key when hosting a toddler-friendly gathering in the city. The Warbler, located in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood, provided the sweetest indoor-outdoor summer setting. The venue’s natural light, lush patio greenery, and welcoming atmosphere made it easy for families to relax, mingle, and celebrate.
4. Custom Cake & Sweet Treats
The dessert table was a central highlight of the party! @alittlefrosting_bakeshop brought the theme to life with a custom birthday cake designed around favorite Super Simple Songs motifs. It looked almost too cute to eat—almost!
