Electric Grandpa Summer Party AKA Grandpa in the Park
2024 style inspo is your grandpa. This trend is all about embracing grandpacore and bringing eccentric and expressive elements for the ages to your wardrobes. If you are not following PINTEREST PREDICTS, you should! Pinterest spots new trends before everyone else and this one is super fun with a lot of nostalgia.
This event was so much fun to plan and brought back a lot of memories of my childhood.

THE ACTIVITIES: Pinterest is all about interactive elements at their parties. We brought in giant chess branded with the P logo, corn hole custom branded in the events colors and patterns, giant branded connect four, lots of board games scattered through “the park”, DIY floral arrangements and watercolors led by the talented Leigh from Indigo & Violett.

Plaid Watercolor Kits

The DIY floral cart was a huge hit!

I dressed on theme to work this event 🙂
THE DECOR: this bike was my favorite part of the event. I went all the way to Wisconsin to get it because it was in the exact shade of the branding colors and a real vintage Schwinn beach cruiser.

Did you notice the Garden sign? I created signs like that all over the office to replicate Chicago Park District sigs.

Because this event was so much about mixing textures and patterns I added different pillows and picnic blankets (as linens) throughout each lounge area. Popped in some topiaries and bam we have a park like feel!

These greenery/floral arch ways(two of them) were a labor of love. Took me forever to make them but I LOVE HOW THEY TURNED OUT! It was over 50 feet of arch to cover!

DETAILS MATTER: Because I wanted this to feel like a real park, each of the picnic benches had a plaque with a Pinterest quote on a them. I hid pigeons throughout the space as a little personal joke (and is there a park in Chicago that doesn’t have pigeons?) Most people didn’t notice them but I definitely had at least 5 people come up to me and mention them. 😉 As a former Marketing Director, branding is very important to me so I always try to incorporate the client logo in the event.
